Synopsis: How do we tell apart the children of God from the children of the devil? In today's passage, John gives us a key mark of a true Christian—true children of God practice righteousness, while the children of the devil practice sin. God's children practice righteousness because of His love for them and because of their hope in the second coming of Christ which transforms them to be like Him.
