The next Discovering ECC classes will be held on Saturday, June 3 and Sunday, June 4. Register here.
Discovering ECC is the best way to learn about who we are as a church. In this class, you’ll learn about our beliefs, our vision, our worship, and what it means to be a member. It’s also a great opportunity to ask the pastors any questions that you might have about ECC and what we believe.
Why become a church member?
The most important way for you to get involved in ECC is to become a member of our church. At ECC, we believe that church membership is a vitally important part of the Christian walk. As followers of Christ, we are part of the body of Christ, which is the church. We are called to love and serve one another as part of that body, and we cannot do that unless we are committed to a community of believers.
Church membership is also something that the Bible teaches us. Jesus showed that it was important because he died for his church (Acts 20:28; Eph 5:25), is building his church (Matt 16:18), and personally identifies with his church (Acts 9:4). In the New Testament letters, we are instructed in how to live together, how to submit to our church leaders, and how to grow spiritually by putting ourselves under the teaching of the church. Being committed to a local body of believers is absolutely necessary to live a faithful Christian life.
If you are interested in becoming a member at ECC or getting baptized, taking the Discovering ECC class is the required first step in the process. Even if you are not sure about membership, you are still welcome to attend the class just so that you can gather more information about our church!
We offer these classes about once every two months. You can also email admin@eccad.org for further inquiries regarding becoming a member at ECC.
