Both of our children’s and teen’s programs fall under the umbrella of ECC’s Family Ministry. Our vision is the same as ECC: We want to be an embassy of the Lord Jesus Christ in Abu Dhabi, growing disciples from the nations to be gospel ambassadors to the nations.
Philosophy of Ministry
Our Family Ministry implements 5 key principles, which make up our Philosophy of Ministry:
Key Principle #1: The Stewardship and Responsibility of Parents: God has called parents to be the primary disciple-makers of the children that he has entrusted to them.
Key Principle #2: The Centrality of the Local Church: The local church is central to God’s redemptive purposes.
Key Principle #3: Corporate Worship as God’s Primary Means of Grace: Children are spiritually formed and blessed through participation in corporate worship, particularly through witnessing their parents glorify and enjoy God together with God’s people.
Key Principle #4: Conversion as the Work of the Holy Spirit. We rely on the sovereign grace of God to accomplish salvation through his means.
Key Principle #5: The Sufficiency of the Bible and the Gospel: The Bible is God’s authoritative and sufficient Word to us and the gospel is God’s power unto salvation.
Children at ECC
Nursery: Our Nursery rooms are open during the second service at 10:40 am for children ages 0-4 on the 1st floor. There are two separate rooms for our babies and preschoolers.
Catechism for Kids: Catechism is a summary of the principles of the Christian religion in the form of questions and answers. This is a high-energy and engaging time of discipleship where we point kids to the truth of the gospel by taking them through The New City Catechism curriculum. Each child receives a resource book containing 52 questions and answers in order to help parents engage with their son or daughter. We welcome kids to join us for Catechism on Sunday mornings.
Time: Sundays, between the first and second service, 10:00 am - 10:30 am
Location: Upper Chapel 2 (1st floor)
Ages: 5- 11
Children's Ministry: This time of discipleship is held during the preaching portion of the main service. We intentionally do this in order to train the little ones on the importance of the local church. Children participate in the main gathering and are released right before the sermon. During this kids' discipleship time, they’ll enjoy singing, prayer, crafts, and listening to a Christ-centered message.
Time: Sundays, during the preaching time of the second service, 11:15 am - 12:15 pm
Location: Upper Chapel 2 (1st floor)
NOTE: Ages 9 and above: Our aim is to begin to train children to love the local church. We believe that by age 9, they are able to sit and understand the sermon. We have provided sermon notebooks for kids.
AWANA Program: Awana is our midweek children’s ministry program that is geared towards Scripture memory, relevant teaching, engaging small groups, and fun games that are aimed to build relationships. This program runs throughout the year. It starts in September and ends in May. Awana is a great opportunity to get kids involved and connected with other kids their age. Together, we walk through biblical truths and kids learn how to grow in their faith. There is a cost associated with this program, but this fee is calculated to cover the cost of shirts, books, supplies, awards and more. Your son or daughter will look forward to this midweek event and will remember it for years to come.
When: September - May
Time: Thursday nights from 6:00 pm - 7:15 pm
Location: Upper Chapel 1 (1st floor)
NOTE: There is a registration deadline which we will announce as time gets closer.
Teens at ECC
Our teens continue to grow in their faith by digging into God’s Word. We follow a Christ-centered curriculum called, Rooted Reservoir. Together, over the course of the year, we’ll dive into James, 1,2,3 John, 1 Peter, & Jude. We want to welcome students to interact with other teens in discussion, small groups, singing, and fellowship. If you have a son/daughter who would like to join us, we’d love to partner with you as a parent to help disciple them to be faithful followers of Christ.
Time: Sundays, 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm
Location: Basement Hall
If you have any questions, please send an email to email@example.com
Note on Age Requirements: We do not break up our groups based on grades, but rather on age. Once your child turns the appropriate age, he/she is welcome to join us for whatever ministry he/she is old enough to attend.
