In this series of messages we continue to explore the theme of the Christian as God’s agent in place. It is often a tough assignment and we are tempted to give up and abandon the path of obedience and service to God’s will. What will help us persevere when life becomes difficult? We explore five perspectives from Paul’s writings in 2 Corinthians, the most autobiographical of Paul’s letters.

In this opening message of a new series, Pastor Cam shares the circumstances in which he first prepared and delivered this series of messages on Perspectives for Persevering in Place almost 25 years ago. The message then explores why the Apostle Paul is an ideal person to share on the subject and presents the first of five perspectives and why it is important to Stay Connected to the Source and to our fellow agents in place.

Stay Focused is the second Perspectives for Persevering in Place. In this message, focusing on II Corinthians 5:11-6:10, we look at how a powerful motivation and a life-changing message add up to an urgent mission. Staying focused on that mission will give us strong reason to push on through the hardships of life and ministry.

In this third message in the series, the key command is Stay Alert. Why? Because we are at war and we face formidable enemies. In this message we examine Satan’s offensive and defensive strategies, and how we can persevere and be effective soldiers in the spiritual battle.

In the fourth message of the series, Stay…small?, we encounter a paradox. It is the paradox of spiritual power that we are strongest when we are weakest. This perspective goes against all our natural tendencies and certainly against the world’s value systems. But there is a divine logic behind it. Find out what it is, as we examine four different passages sprinkled throughout II Corinthians in chapters 1, 4, 12 and 13).
