This is the time of the year when our youth go on a mission trip called “Project Serve”. They are headed to India and Nepal this summer! To help raise funds for the same we have a Bake Sale on Friday, May 18 and 25. If you would like to support a student please contact Chris or Ronali Bruce.

Starting 1 May, Pastor Joe will be speaking to the Ladies Bibles Studies on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday evenings for 5 wks on “Christian Apologetics”. The class will meet on Tuesday mornings in the Upper Chapel 1 at 9:15am and Wednesday evenings in the Basement Hall at 7:00pm. The Friday Adult Bible (FAB) class has started a new study based upon the book, “When Helping Hurts – How to Alleviate Poverty without Hurting the Poor …and Yourself.” This will be an 11- week class and is the follow-on topic from the just concluded study “Radical.” This study will help us do more to meet the needs of the poor and do it wisely in obedience to the commands of Jesus Christ.

Join us for a time of listening to an inspirational speaker on Wednesday, May 16th. 10:00-11:30am. We meet in the upper chapel of ECC. Childcare provided.

Sunday, May 20, is ECC AWANA Quizzing for T&T and Trek  clubbers. T&T clubbers should study their Start Zone and handbook from lesson 1-3.7.  Trek clubbers should study the Trek Check and Lesson 1-1.6. Medals will be awarded to our winners. Cubbies will have their regular club meeting on May 20, and Sparkies will have MOVIE NIGHT! It is not necessary for Sparkies to bring their books or wear their uniforms on the 20th. 

Howdy parents! Y’all come and join us on Sunday May 27, for our Wild West Awards Ceremony for Cubbies, Sparks, T&T, and Trek clubbers at 5:45pm in Main Hall 2 near the bookstore.  Cubbies & Trek parents bring a plate of cut up veggies or fruit; Sparks parents bring a plate of sandwiches; T&T parents bring a plate of sweets. Make sure you bring enough for your  family and several more.

Join us as we go as a group following the second service on May 25 to the new Mushrif Mall located on 2nd street between 23rd & 25th Street. Meet us in the food court on the second level and sit in the center section as you come up the escalator. Enjoy this time meeting some new friends and get to know some one you don’t know so well from the church.

If you enjoy helping young people ages 12-14 grow deeper in their walks with the Lord, then we need you to help with the ECC Junior High Youth Group starting September, 2012. If you are interested, e-mail Jean Page. We will have an informational meeting at the beginning of June.
